New Feature: Lists!

Ryan and I developed the lists functionality for The Auteurs over the past two weeks.  It’s pretty badass, check it out for yourselves.

garagestudio:

Everyone loves a good list, so why not make your own? Lists are a powerful new way to share and discover great films.

It’s easy to get started:

Come up with a title for your list with a brief description

Type in the name of a film or director to begin adding films to your list

And drag and drop the numbers to reorder.

You can also add any film to your lists right from the film details page.

And speaking of lists, here are more great things you can do with them:

Need inspiration? Here are a few lists that are bound to stir up some discussion:

Last Minute Theatrics

The TIFF09 schedule, which was supposed to be published today both as content on the official Toronto International Film Festival site and as an RSS feed, was slow to appear, but unfortunately the RSS feed never materialized.

That was a big blow for us at tiffr, we were banking on using that RSS feed to populate our database.  It seems that things are not as organized as they once were over on the interactive team at TIFF this year.  We’ve spent the day trying to gather all of the schedule data manually from their site, as well as publishing a major update to the pre-release code that was accessible at http://tiffr.com for the last ten days or so.

The app is running smoothly, with a bunch of bug fixes and new features to help save you time, and we’re scrambling to get the data in the database so you can start making your schedules on tiffr.

Stay tuned for more updates and the official announcement of our full launch!

tiffr.com: The simple way to schedule your festival

As self-proclaimed cinephiles, my friend Ryan and I attend the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) annually, and have always hoped for a way to make the process of selecting from the 300+ films on hand every year and making a schedule simple and clean.  Following the old adage, if you want something done right, do it yourself, we did just that and built our own solution.  The result?

http://tiffr.com : The simple way to schedule your festival.

We’ve tried our best to make it simple and intuitive to use based on our experiences.  Check out this link for more info on How It Works.

Hopefully our hard work will help you save time and frustration.  We think the site is pretty kick ass and we hope you will too!

P.S. Check out our Tumblog too!

hardgraft:

We discovered polyvore the other day and started to create some hard graft lookbooks.
If you are not familiar with polyvore this is how it works: You clip you favorite clothes, furniture etc. from online shops and create your own lookbook. So, all you see in this image you can actually buy online in various places. Just click through and start shopping.
Let us know what you think!

hard graft is a great design company in Austria, from whom I purchased my laptop sleeve and covet several other items, particularly the 2unfold bag. They just introduced me to polyvore, which is a great idea and one of the coolest implementations I’ve seen on the web in a while.

Rose Byrne is amazing.  She’s one of the few celebrities I’ve seen who is more beautiful in real life.  Doesn’t hurt that she’s also incredibly talented.  For irrefutable proof, watch The Goddess of 1967.
